On this day, a mere eleven years ago, Sweet Babou and I were pronounced man and wife. Marrying him remains the best decision I have ever made. Here is the happy couple, kneeling at the alter like good Episcopalians:
I was expressing reverent gratitude to the Almighty for the wonderful man who was now my lawful wedded husband, while I suspect Sweet Babou was praying for God to have Mercy upon him in his travails. I am wearing blue because it was the traditional color of a bride’s dress in Ireland for hundreds of years, and Sweet Babou wore a full great kilt with tuxedo jacket. He has some sexy, sexy knees y’all.
We’re about to go out to dinner to celebrate, and being the domestically oriented boring people that we are the kids are coming with us. We are deeply happy with our lives together. It’s nice.
I love you with all my heart, my Sweet Babou.

Congratulations! I suppose we don’t get to see the front of the dress, in order to preserve the modesty and anonymity of the Fokker family, but the back looks lovely.
The bodice was low cut and I feared that the priest would get hit if “the girls” sprang forth :0)
“The girls” continue to inspire 11 years later….
that is one stunning gown…and best wishes to you for a delightful anniversary celebration!
Are you referring to my gown or hers?
Happy Anniversary, youse guys! May the next 11 years been even better than the last!
HOw beautiful you both look!
It makes me so happy that you are happy. The Happy is contagious like that. Beautiful dress. I wish I’d thought to get married in blue. Well actually – never mind I’m not going there.
You made a beautiful couple, and I’m sure you still do!
Aww sweet.
You both look gorgeous! Happy Anniversary and many more!
Awesome! Love the outfits. Happy Anniversary!
Ha! I raise you your gorgeous blue Irish gown with my green and white polka dot flamenco dress. It was cheaper than our wedding cake, which was the most expensive single item of food I have ever bought and ever hope to buy.
Happy Anniversary!
Congratulations! I would also love to see the front of the gown(s).
Sully and I had a Renaissance wedding and I wore blue too. It must be a sign of good things to follow. We bring our daughter to our anniversary celebration dinners too.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!!
