Imma work this poem, y’all

Twas the night before Christmas

and here in our house

I am still wearing jammies

and so is my spouse

The presents are wrapped

and are hidden away

until “Santa” will bring them

upon Christmas day

Of course there’s a gift

that has yet to arrive

I’ll wait ‘til they’re sleeping

then I’ll sneak it inside

I’m washing our clothes

to load our suitcases

for the trip down to Granny’s

and other fun places

The journey’s delayed

it is really a pity

but we simply can’t travel

if the weather is shitty

Soon we’ll get ready

and put on nice clothes

then we’ll head off to church

in spite of light snows

After church we’ll go driving

to gawk at all decorations

our hearts will be merry

full of Christmas sensations

When we get home

we’ll watch a kids movie

I’ll cry happy tears

because my life is so groovy

We’ll set out Santa’s snack

no milk will wait here

instead of the cookies

we’re giving cheese and cold beer

Then we’ll get the girls nestled

and tucked in their beds

where visions of sugarplums

will dance in their heads

As soon as they’ve entered

a deep children’s sleep

then out of our office

with hidden presents we’ll creep

We’ll put the all the packages

around and under the tree

Where they’ll see them tomorrow

and will surely go squee

The thought of their happiness

fills us with joy

which worth more than money

in exchange for a toy

So now I sign off

but with all of my might

I wish Merry Christmas to all

and to all a good night!
